I’m leaving town tomorrow
I fly by aeroplane to the north
To join a scientific expedition
Together with my friends
But first I’ll go to Trondheim
to visit Mr Hvallbiff
And he will lend the photographs,
As promised by Professor Nummendal.
And then we walk into the wilderness and find my precious stone
Flying to the free world
I’d spread my wings and fly into the world
Fly into the free world,
I’ll take the chance of being in the sky
Like a free bird
Flying high
I’m going out to Finnmark
To prove a proposition that I have
And I will check the little lakes,
Arisen from a stone that fell from space
I might not need the photographs
To check out the terrain
I’d like to have an aeroplane
And fly around, why suffer all the pain
Why bother with the pain and all the effort, if I could get a plane
Flying to the free world
I’d spread my wings and fly into the world
Fly into the free world,
I’ll take the chance of being in the sky
Like a free bird
Flying high
Why is it in this world
That a geographic student
Has to prove this proposition to the world
Without the technical improvements
Of aeroplanes and other things
That are made to ease the life of all the people
To make it easier to prove my proposition to my teacher
I’d fly into the world, into the wilderness,
Like a bird so free
Flying to the free world
I’d spread my wings and fly into the world
Fly into the free world,
I’ll take the chance of being in the sky
Like a free bird
Flying high
