This is Not The Day To Stay

Track 7
Music by R. Molema
Lyrics by R. Molema
Inspired & Translated from 'Nooit Meer Slapen' the novel by Willem Frederik Hermans
Part 1
I’m waking up, that means that I have slept.
I’m getting used to Arne’s snoring.
It’s unbelievable, that I need the sound to stay asleep.

Arne left, no snoring sound around.
I get dressed in this rain suit again.
Today is the day, that is not the day to stay.
To search for a stone without a drop of hope.

Solo

And I return without any progress
Nothing here to find on the Finnmark Plateau
Today is the day, that I want to leave this place
But I need more time, to find the stone

I decide to do the same thing as Arne.
As I always do, it makes no sense to stay in the tent.
So I go…

Part 2
I’m walking through the marsh
I jump from from stone to stone
Crossing  the rivers with a lot of pain
In this land of rain

I’m walking throug the swamps
The rocks are everywhere
The mountains, rivers, mosquitoes and pain
In this land of Rain

Everywhere little lakes around
They look like dead-ice holes
But nothing I can find
What am I doing here

Solo

Part 3
I’m waking up, that means that I have slept.
I’m so used to Arne’s snoring.
It’s just unbearable, but I need more time, I want to sleep.
